Merrill G. Liteplo, M.D.

BIOGRAPHY

Merrill Liteplo graduated with honors from Manhattan College in 1965, and in 1969 received his medical degree from Harvard University.  After two years of internal medicine training at University Hospitals of Cleveland he returned to Boston to train in the Department of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School.  During that time he also spent one year as a fellow in the Department of Dermatology at Lahey Clinic.  Since completion of his training in 1974, he has been in the private practice of Dermatology and has continued to maintain a part-time academic affiliation with the Harvard Department of Dermatology.  He has served on the Residency Selection Committee of the Department for many years, and supervised and trained dermatology residents in the clinic setting one-half day a week. Over the years he has lectured to the medical staff at Mount Auburn Hospital and is involved in the out-patient dermatology training of Mt. Auburn Hospital medical residents.

In addition to caring for the general dermatological concerns of both children and adults, Dr. Liteplo also has a special interest in medical and surgical management of skin cancer and its precursor conditions. He performs laser procedures for spider veins, hair removal and pigment spots.

Dr. Liteplo is a classical pianist who continues to study at the New England Conservatory and is currently on its Board of Visitors.
